Turkey’s government announced on Wednesday that it wants to join the International Court of Justice ( ICJ) in a lawsuit bringing charges against Israel of “genocide” against the terrorist organization Hamas.
The radical leftist authorities of South Africa’s ruling ruling in the ICJ case claims that Israel’s self-defense operations in Gaza’s Hamas stronghold are basically aimed at killing civilians and have an intention to kill the local population. South Africa has struggled to make its situation clear, once quoting the Bible in an unsuccessful attempt to refute Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s say that he had declared homicidal intent.
In December, South Africa hosted representatives of Hamas, a criminal organization that calls for the murder of Israelis and Jews in general, for friendly meetings with state officials.
Turkey has also welcomed Hamas officials, most recently enthusiastically loving Ismail Haniyeh, the “political” leader of the group, to Istanbul in April. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, an Islamic leader in Turkey, has repeatedly claimed in front of the people that Hamas is never a criminal business and has compared Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the Islamic team.

” After the decision to join ( the case ) is made by our esteemed President, we will submit our official application following legal work”, Cuneyt Yuksel, the chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Justice Committee, announced on Wednesday, according to the state- run Anadolu news agency. ” We will remain our work with determination to ensure the criticism of Israel, which has been condemned by the consciousness of humanity as well as in the eyes of the law,” we said.
” The Palestinian problem, envisaged to be based on the rule of law and international law, is a problem that could even change the ecology of the current global order and direct to global effects”, Yuksel claimed, accusing Israel of “apartheid”, presumably for allowing Hamas and the Palestinian Authority to govern territories, and “occupation” of those same territories.
Anadolu pointed out that Hakan Fidan, the foreign secretary of Turkey, had confirmed the delegation’s intention to travel to South Africa to the Hague.
According to Fidan, the Qatari store Al Jazeera quoted him as saying,” We will post the pronouncement of official treatment before the Judge with the aim of implementing this political decision”.
” Turkey may continue to support the Palestinian people in all situation”, he promised.
Al Jazeera reported that Erdogan had stated in January that Colombia was the second nation to fully apply to join the case after Colombia and that Turkey was now requesting assistance from South Africa for the event.
Colombia and Israel have long had pleasant relations, including having benefited from major military assistance, up until Wednesday when communist President Gustavo Petro announced an official close to diplomatic relations in support of Hamas. Petro is Colombia’s first leftist president in its history.
The Hague’s ICJ is the United Nations ‘ top court. It is limited to hearing cases between state parties — the members of the UN — and cannot hear cases involving individuals. A decision in the Israel case may take years to come down, according to Al Jazeera. The ICJ initially responded to South Africa’s complaint by issuing a statement urging Israel to refrain from carrying out genocide and to provide humanitarian aid to civilians. However, it has since resisted moving to grant emergency orders to stop Israeli operations against Hamas in Gaza, most notably the anticipated operation in southern Rafah, the last remaining Hamas stronghold in the Gaza Strip.
South Africa has not taken a similar action to punish Hamas for the incident that led to Israel’s self-defense operations and the bloody siege of the nation by jihadists on October 7. Hamas terrorists invaded the country on that day, killing entire families in their homes, including infants, in door-to-door massacres against random civilians in residential areas. Hamas is estimated to have killed 1, 200 people, engaged in widespread gang rapes, and abducted 250 people, of which about 130 are believed to remain in captivity today.
A report released by the , Jerusalem Post in January found proof that South African banks are facilitating the funding of Hamas through shell companies, in addition to failing to condemn Hamas.
Turkey’s Erdogan, in turn, has been one of the most vocal supporters of Hamas since October 7, refusing to condemn the siege and welcoming Hamas leaders to his country.
” Hamas is not a terrorist organization, it is a group of , mujahideen , defending their lands”, Erdogan , proclaimed , on October 25.
That same month, Erdogan hosted a gathering he branded the ,” Great Palestine Rally”  , at Istanbuk’s Atatürk Airport, where the Turkish government claimed 1.5 million people assembled to support Hamas.
” Israel, we will declare you to the world as a war criminal. We are preparing for introducing Israel to the world as a war criminal”, Erdogan announced at the time, repeating,” Hamas is not a terrorist organization”.
Turkish attorneys affiliated with Erdogan’s Islamist Justice and Development Party ( AKP ) made the announcement in November that they would file a case against Netanyahu directly with the International Criminal Court ( ICC ) prior to their application for a role in the ICJ case. Unlike the ICJ, the ICC can process cases against individuals and only takes cases involving three international crimes: war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Turkey’s legal standing before the ICC is at most unclear because it is not a party to the Rome Statute, the document that established it. Additionally, Israel is not a member of the Rome Statute.
” On behalf of the conscience of our citizens of the Republic of Turkey, against the genocide committed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”, one of the attorneys,  , Metin Külünk, announced,” the Hitler of this century, in Gaza, that all the crimes he committed are crimes against humanity and that he must be tried in the International Criminal Court for the crime of genocide and as a murderer”.
