On Wednesday’s spread of CNBC’s” Squawk Box”, Rep.  , Ritchie Torres ( D- NY ) stated that he fears” college campuses are indoctrinating the next generation of Americans with, not even contempt for Israel, but even hatred for their own land, and I’m not conscious of a society in human history that has succeeded on the strength of personal- loathing”.
Torres said,” Appear, extremism is not an entirely remaining- wing phenomenon. Fanaticism exists both on the far right and the far left, and we are required to denounce it regardless of its shape or origin. I’ve also spoken out consistently against both the far-right and the far-left.
Co- number Andrew Ross Sorkin next asked,” Congressman Torres, what do you think about the professors at Columbia who are engaged in this activity, which may very well be unique, you may set them in a different class than the students. Do you believe they ought to leave?”
Torres responded,” Look, if you have either a professor or a student who’s violating university policy or breaking the law, there should be accountability, there should be consequences, of course. And I’m concerned that our college campuses are indoctrinating the next generation of Americans with a hatred for both their own country and Israel, and that I’m not aware of a civilization in human history that has succeeded on the strength of self-loathing.
