After being found guilty of fraud and loan fraud, Mosby says her convictions relate to her decision to charge officers with Freddie Gray’s murder in 2015. She also claims that Mosby’s beliefs are related to her determination to sentence her to 40 years in prison.

Despite some claims that Mosby’s condition was brought on by her arrest for the soldiers who were in Gray’s death, the Baltimore Sun reported that Democrat District Attorney Erek Barron handled the case for her.
