
NEW DELHI: Heather Pressdee, a Pennsylvania caregiver, was sentenced to 380- 760 years in prison on Saturday for willfully administering lethal doses of insulin to many patients aged 43 to 104 years over a three- time period.
Between 2020 and 2023, Pressdee was charged with the deaths of at least 17 people in five health infrastructure.
She was sentenced to life in prison for pleading guilty to three murder counts and 19 attempted murder matters. She was charged of giving increased glucose doses to 22 people, including some who were not retinopathy, during over shifts.
The majority of the people passed away either right away or later. An insulin abuse can cause diabetes, increase heart rate, and also lead to heart attacks.
Prior to this, Pressdee’s employees had complained about how she treated her individuals, saying she generally made disparaging remarks about them.
Also, iIn text information to her family, Pressdee expressed her discontent with people, colleagues, and even people she encountered at restaurants, usually mentioning causing damage to them.
Pressdee, during the court proceedings, when asked by one of her attorneys why she was pleading guilty, she responded,” Because I am guilty”.
