Chick-fil-A is being sent by Lindsay Graham to UNC shop activists for “protecting Old Glory” | The Hill

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S. C. ) announced on Saturday that he is sending Chick-fil-A to protesters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ( UNC).
In a blog on the social media platform X Saturday, Graham wrote,” I’m so proud of the brave young gentlemen at UNC who stood off for our country and protected our flag against the pro-Hamas demonstrators on their campus.”
” The actions of these young people make me enthusiastic for the next era’s love for our nation”, Graham’s article continued. ” Fellas, as a thank you for protecting Old Glory, @ChickfilA is on the way this morning, remarks of Team Graham”!
At a UNC campus rally on Tuesday, Pi Kappa Phi people prevented an American emblem from touching the ground. The people were filmed holding up the flag as protesters launched a GoFundMe campaign for the frat brothers, titled “UNC Frat Bros Defended their Flag.” Throw ‘ em a Rager”, which now has raised more than$ 500, 000.  ,
John Rich, a country musician, announced on Thursday that he would play for the brotherhood people at the “rager.”
” I reached over and I said,’ Kids, I sure am glad of you. When you have that great rager you guys are talking about on GoFundMe, I’d like to display up and play you a complimentary music,'” Rich said on NewsNation’s” On Balance” with number Leland Vittert. ” And they hit again, and I think we’re gonna try to make that transpire”.
Billionaire entrepreneur Bill Ackman, who has expressed his dislike for new pro- Arab protests, donated$ 10, 000 to the GoFundMe.
In response to the Israel-Hamas conflict and the severe humanitarian situation in Gaza, protests have recently erupted on college campuses across the country.
The demonstrations have also faced charges of hatred, which demonstrators have pushed up against.  ,
In a statement released last month, Columbia University protest leaders said,” We are frustrated by media distractions focusing on inflammatory individuals who do not represent us.” Our people have been misidentified by a socially determined mob, according to wikipedia.
We strongly reject any form of racism or bigotry, and we are vigilant against non-students from attempting to stifle the formation of student solidarity,” they continued. ” Arab, Muslim, Arab, Jewish, Black and pro- Arab classmates and acquaintances who represent the whole richness of our nation”.
