Senator Tim Scott ( R- SC ) said Sunday on NBC’s” Meet the Press” that college presidents need to know that federal funding is a privilege, not a right.
” I want to start with the demonstrations we have witnessed on college campuses across the country,” said network Kristen Welker. Some colleges have reportedly requested encouragement from the police. Do you think that’s the right walk? For those who are protesting calmly, do you value their proper to peaceful protest”?
Scott said,” We certainly respect the right to peaceful protests. Too frequently, what we see on college campuses is n’t peaceful protest. There’s a reason why there’s been more than 2, 000 detention and detainments on university campuses. Because of the vandalism, persons are being hit, and houses are being broken into. The anti-semitism we see nowadays is comparable to that of the 1960s, which we need to comprehend.
He added,” The British people are saying it loud and clear, they support eliminating pro- semitism from university campuses. They are being very distinct. there’s no room for love in America. Why President Biden took so long to speak out against anti-semitism is unclear. The cause, in part, is because his bottom refuses to let him do so. He is sacrificing his political beliefs in favor of justice and anti-semitism. I would suggest this to every college president and college in America, your national financing is a luxury, it is not a straight. Every Israeli student on school has the right to comfortably walk to class. Every Hebrew child has a right to quiet study in a collection. Every scholar should feel that level of security, according to the government of America.
