EL PASO, Texas ( Border Report ) – Police in Chihuahua, Mexico, are investigating the death of a man who fell off or was struck by a cargo train headed to the border on Sunday.
In the 2 de Junio location on the north outskirts of the city, a man’s body in his 20s was found close to train tracks. The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for an examination because it had obvious injury. A beer bottle filled with water was visible within reach of the victim, who was carrying a handbag.
The victim, according to officials on the field, was likely a migrant who had fallen or been struck by the train.
Refugees by the thousands have been arriving on and off to Chihuahua City, about 230 miles north of El Paso, Texas, for the past many decades. Many people are seen visiting the border town of Juarez, taking taxis, or staying in Chihuahua’s makeshift camps.
