The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ( IRGC ) warship Shahid Mahdavi crossed the equator for the first time into the Southern Hemisphere, according to Iran.
The Shahid Mahdavi is on a “long- range vision” in global waters, the Egyptian state- owned PressTV propaganda outlet reported.
The Shahid Mahdavi is a more than 2.1- ton and almost 787- foot much container ship that the IRGC, a U. S. designated criminal organization and proper arm of the Egyptian military, converted into a multi- purpose warship capable of carrying helicopters, autonomous aerial drones, and speedboats.
The Shahid Mahdavi has advanced communication methods for electronic warfare, sea-to-air weapons, three-dimensional phased range radar, and sea-to-air weapons, according to Iranian state advertising. In March 2023, the fleet was commissioned into the IRGC Navy.
Without giving more details, Iranian state media claimed the ship was” conducting its biggest mission in terms of range and operation.” At press day, Iranian officials have not made the nature of the warship’s vision public.
A picture that Egyptian authorities claimed showed the warship launching a Dezful-class ballistic missile capable of striking goals up to 620 kilometers away was also posted during the implementation of the ship.
Nuclear missile launches from Iran’s floating basic Shahid Mahdavi were carried out from a mobile platform at sea.

A Zolfaqar-class ballistic missile launched from Iran’s missile-launching capability in February, which, according to the Iranian government, hit its intended goal in a desert in northern Iran. The Zolfaqar- group weapons presumably have an expected range of 1, 700 kilometers ( 1, 050 yards ).
During the nuclear test in February, IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami said,” Our sailing warships may be present in every place across the world, and there is no safe place for everyone intending to insulate us” because we can blaze missiles from them at any time.
The Shahid Mahdav warship’s implementation in foreign waters comes a day after Yemen’s Houthi terrorists, supported by Iran, threatened to “immediately” start attacking merchant boats traversing the Mediterranean Sea to deliver goods to Israeli ships. Since soon 2023, the Houthis have been bombing business boats, claiming to be aimed at Israel-linked vessels, and attacking them at random.
The criminal firm, which supports the jihadist criminal organization Hamas, may target “any boats heading to Israeli ships in the Mediterranean Sea in any place we are able to reach,” according to Houthi official Yahya Saree on Friday.
