Johnson is a affected speaker of the next Congress, according to the two traditional lawmakers. They called for him , to step down so Republicans can start moving forward, arguing Johnson’s illegal lame duck standing did hurt Republican as they fundraise and plan for November’s votes.
” I have been individual, I have been attentive. I have been stable. And I’ve been focused on the specifics”, Greene said. ” And none of that has changed”.

Johnson said after the meeting that he “understand]s ] the frustration.  , I share it. Here, I would really like to see a lot more of our conservative policy being used every day. However, we actually have the smallest majority in American history and only have a one-vote margin.
He said his goal is to “keep advancing the ball, to get the next first down, to put points on the board and then, and get to November”.
Although Greene and Massie did not schedule their Tuesday morning meeting, they could still vote on her motion at any time.
The House would then have two more days to vote, although Greene might make her move as soon as Johnson decides to put a motion on the table.
By putting a motion to rescind, Jeffries and his Democratic leadership have pledged to save Johnson.
