Berlin authorities on Tuesday halted a protest involving some hundred pro-Palestine activists who had previously occupied a yard at the Berlin Free University. Around 20 houses had been constructed by the protesters, and they had a human chain encircling the tents.
Police used headphones to eavesdrop on students as they left the school.
Most activists wore medical masks, wore kufiyahs, and scribbled “viva, viva Palestina” on their heads while wearing masks.
In recent days, individuals have held rallies or set up camps in Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France and Britain, following earlier demonstrations that have roiled US schools.
