
In just one week’s worth of seizures, U.S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) agents working at the El Paso, Texas, managed to stop 113 pounds of cocaine and 112 pounds of fentanyl from entering the country’s illegal drug trade. In the week leading up to the Cinco de Mayo vacation, there were several cases of seizures. In all, the street value of the cocaine is estimated at$ 1.5 million.
Hector Mancha, CBP’s Director of Field Operations for El Paso, stated in a press release that the medications were being seized at the El Paso region ports of entry,” We are hard at work every day utilizing several tools to identify and prevent those who attempt to avoid our observation process.”

A 48-year-old man United States resident drove a 2013 Hyundai Elantra to El Paso’s Bridge of Americas Port of Entry on April 30th, according to CBP, and on April 30 that same day, 42.5 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered. After using a Low Energy Portal evaluation system to identify irregularities in the Hyundai Elantra’s looks, CBP officers ‘ suspicions grew. An extra X-ray check was carried out after a canine became aware of the possibility of cocaine being brought into the car.

The DEA issued a warning to the public about a fatal dose of fentanyl in a campaign called” One Pill You Kill” that was launched by the agency.
