Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA ) responded to a question on Tuesday’s “CNN This Morning” on the subject of how to handle criticism of the actions of House Democrats by stating that there is” a question of double standards of the kinds of speech and conduct that feel acceptable when it’s directed at Jews or Israelis that does n’t feel acceptable against other protected classes in the United States and that there is n’t enough time to separate criticism of the Israeli government from criticism of the Jewish people or of all The second element is that we must completely denounce October 7 and place the blame where it belongs, which is with Hamas.
Auchincloss added that” Jewish students ‘ attitudes on these schools are exacerbated by party members who encourage and chicken on protesters who have adopted an racist bent.”
Auchincloss stated in his opening statement that” the remaining” in the Democratic Party has “roled in fueling this antisemitism.”
Eventually, number Kasie Hunt asked,” You mentioned that you think that the leader has to call out or respond to the left of your group, and it is your group, as well as the government’s party. And many of the Democratic Party people are House of Representatives people in real life. Who do you think has had an impact on this controversy from their activities, some of the actions of the House members, and Democrats?
In response, Auchincloss said,” It’s a problem of double standards of the types of speech and carry that feeling satisfactory when they’re directed at Jews or Israelis in the United States, and it’s also a question of poorly separating criticism of the Jewish government from criticism of all Israel of the era. Hunt then asked,” Do you think that there are members of the House in your party who are antisemitic”?
Auchincloss responded,” I’m not going to talk to what’s in people’s hearts. What I’ll say is that Israeli students are putting more pressure on Jews on these schools by members of the party who encourage and chicken on activists who have adopted antisemitism.
He added that the Democrat Party, “overall, is firmly in the American traditions of diversity and sensitivity”.
