As efforts to give Ukraine$ 60 billion in aid are spearheaded by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA ) and its seemingly unending conflict with Russia, Americans are increasingly accusing the US of providing too much aid.
According to a Pew Research surveys conducted on Tuesday, 31 percent of Americans believe that the nation is giving Ukraine to little support, compared to 25 percent who think that is” on appropriate” and 24 percent who think it is not “enough.”
When Pew initially began polling this subject in March 2022, 7 percent of respondents thought we provided very far, 32 percent thought the amount was about right, and 42 percent thought it was insufficient.
Then 49 percent of Republicans believe America provides very little support, 21 percent say it is about right, and 13 percentage say it is not enough.
Pew even noted that based on age, people’s opinions on support to Ukraine differ.
” Loyalists also differ by age, with younger Republicans , and , Democrats more good than their older counterparts to suggest the U. S. is giving too much help to Ukraine. Younger supporters are likewise significantly more likely to answer” No positive “on this problem”, Pew wrote.
In response to Speaker Johnson’s efforts to provide$ 60 billion in aid to Ukraine, the Pew Research poll follows, effectively reversing his pledge to enhance international support without first obtaining the border.
Before he became Speaker, Republicans for Ukraine, a party backed by arch- conservative and Rarely Trumper Bill Kristol,  , gave , Johnson an” F” level for his many vote against Ukraine support.
In May 2022, after voting against support to Ukraine Johnson,  , said in a statement:
Without having enough control over where the money will go, we should n’t be sending another$ 40 billion abroad when our own border is in chaos, American mothers are having to find baby formula, American families are struggling to make ends meet, and gas prices are at record highs.  ,
Then, Johnson, in a press conference in April, described himself as a “wartime Speaker” as he defended his plan to send aid to Ukraine and different places.
” Do the proper thing, let the chips fall where they may,” is my idea. I would never be able to perform my job if I had to operate out of fear of activity. Look, past judges us for what we do. This is a crucial time best now”, he said.
