Bangkok: Only two years after becoming one of the first Asian nations to decriminalise cannabis for recreational use, its prime minister announced Tuesday that Thailand did re-list it as a narcotic by the end of the year. The decision comes in spite of the domestic marijuana retail sector’s explosive growth, which is projected to be worth up to$ 1.2 billion by 2025.
On X, PM Srettha Thavisin stated,” I want the health department to change the rules and re-list cannabis as a narcotic.” The government should rapidly enact a rule that permits its exclusive use for medical and health purposes.
