( NewsNation ) — , An anonymous Border Patrol agent said in a special edition of” Dan Abrams Live” that cartels” control the border”, not the United States or its agents.
” Anything that we do is a reaction to things that they have planned”, the representative entirely told NewsNation’s Ali Bradley. ” Typically, we’re chasing around puppets while the kings and queens are doing whatever they want”.
The broker requested anonymity in order to avoid the government’s repercussions.
” I’m terrified to talk to the internet because I’m scared of what, you know, the government would do, which certainly would be to lose my job, correctly? … They do n’t want you speaking on their behalf without their permission”, the agent said.
” Our border is by no means secure, and even if it was, we do n’t have the manpower to handle the situation that’s happening right now”.
Because law enforcement is “defunded and overburdened,” the broker even warned that” no one is coming to defend you.”
” Your life better be threatened, or no one will be making you a focus. So no one is coming. And you better ego- support and personal- protect”, the representative added.
The conclusion reflects an agency that has previously struggled to find agents at both the state and federal levels due to confidence issues. Officials have been forced to patrol the border instead of processing asylum calls.
According to officials, cartels allegedly employing American military personnel to assist with immigration smuggling is a worrying trend that wo n’t likely stop anytime soon.
President , Joe Biden , expanded funding , for immigrant detention centres in an effort to improve , frontier police and calm the migrant crisis, but his walk has sparked anger by lots of humanitarian organizations who say he has gone up on his individual rights promises.  , Over 200 companies, including Human Rights Watch, the National Immigrant Justice Center and Amnesty International, called Biden’s funding ,” an absolute betrayal of battle promises” in a scathing , available letter , next month.  ,
Over the past seven decades, U. S. Customs and Border Protection data shows the southwestern border has seen 1.54 million contacts, which remains on par with next year’s record- building numbers.
The agent said that” there’s no way” to vet the amount of migrants coming into the country.
” It’s not doable. We do n’t have the manpower, the technology, and we do n’t have the time. This is not manageable, and there has to be a better way. And right now with this administration, there are no repercussions. There’s no policies that are keeping people from coming across. They basically have complete freedom, and we are at their peril.
New asylum changes on the horizon
The Biden administration is reportedly gearing up to , propose new asylum changes , for migrants crossing the , U. S. Mexico border. The changes could speed up the removal of immigrants, which officials believe poses a risk to national security or public safety.
However, any sweeping changes to the nation’s immigration policy would likely be met with pushback from Democrats.
