When its contract at One Business Plaza in San Francisco expires in April 2025, tech giant Google is rumored to be planning to move out of the 300,000 square feet facility.
One Market Plaza, a well-known central office complex with beautiful views of San Francisco Bay, is gearing up for the exit of its next major tenant in a year, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. As per a firm spokesperson’s confirmation on Tuesday, Google, which has occupied the broad office area since 2018, will leave when its contract expires in April 2019. This action comes in response to Visa’s most new move to relocate its workforce to Mission Rock.
Given that many of Google’s employees now work electronically, the decision to move the waterfront office is a result of this change. One Market Plaza, one of the state’s biggest office buildings, has an 11-story seize creating known as the Landmark and two towers that are the city’s tallest. It is one of the city’s most prominent features.

While removing itself from the Spear Tower, Google spokesman Ryan Lamont claims that the company may keep occupying the smaller Landmark building. Lamont stated the bank’s commitment to maintaining a long-term appearance in San Francisco, but he declined to comment on how much Google’s planned stay would be there.
According to officials in the real estate industry, Google intends to move its headquarters from One Sector to near 345 Spear St., where it currently leases about 400, 000 square foot. According to these sources, Google’s contract at 345 Spear St. will probably expire in the following year, but Lamont did not respond to requests for comment.
Following Paramount and Blackstone’s successful negotiations for a three-year improvement with a one-year solution on a$ 975 million payment for One Market Plaza, which was scheduled to expire in February, the announcement of Google’s impending exit comes just months after the company successfully negotiated a one-year option. Making a$ 125 million settlement on the pending loan secured the expansion for the partners. Business individuals contend that having earlier made the announcement that Google would have been leaving would have been more difficult to secure.
One Market Plaza is still in the running for office despite the city’s record-high business vacancy rates, which have increased by over 36 percent this year. Successful prices are roughly 20 % higher than those for another trophy office buildings. Although both companies have recently announced plans to leave or downsize their appearance at the difficult, top-tier residents have long been drawn to it, including Visa and Autodesk.
