The pro-Israel vigilantes who attacked a pro-Palestine “encampment” at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA ) last week are comparable to the Capitol rioters of January 6, 2021, according to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
As Breitbart News reported, the camp bullied Israeli students, assaulted reporters, and blocked access to college for kids, university, and the public for many days. Little was done to stop them by the government and the school.
Safety companies and law enforcement claimed to have been instructed not to act. The protesters had been given control of them and were being guided by their implementation, according to a UCLA security guard who spoke to Breitbart News.
On the night of April 30- May 1, a group of about 100 pro- Israel vigilantes attacked the camp, and battles ensued. Only then did elected officials speak over, and UCLA and law enforcement made a move to clean the camp.
Bass vowed , to sue those involved. In an effort to find and identify suspects, authorities have used techniques from the January 6 examinations.
On Wednesday, the , Los Angeles Times reported, Bass emphasized the January 6 comparison:
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Wednesday compared the assault at UCLA last week to the Jan. 6 attack on the U. S. Capitol, saying it” came out of somewhere”.
…
Bass has recently described Jan. 6 as a tragic event that threatened the life of editors, disaster personnel, and others.
…
Bass, in the Fox 11 meeting, even questioned why the school allowed ]a pro- Israel ] counterprotest to take place next to the pro- Arab camp, which had been mostly quiet until then.
Contrary to what Bass said, the “encampment” threatened and assaulted reporters. It was also not “largely peaceful”, but somewhat seized a piece of the school by army, and patrolled it by force.
The university allowed the “encampment” to handle security during the pro- Israel counter- demonstration, so much so that pro- Israel protesters, including children, had to move through a gauntlet of furious pro- Arab activists, leading to little- scale scuffles throughout.
