In a conversation with the mainstream media outlet , Politico‘s Mike Johnson (R-LA ) made a mockery of former US president Donald Trump.
” The voice was near to SNL- worthy” , , Politico opined.
” He’s a good speaker of the House”, Johnson added, continuing his Trump impression.
Politico claimed:
Johnson is enjoying a time of renewed respect, especially now that it has been difficult to avoid a stoppage and has been working to get aid to Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine. The majority of House Republicans are now more upset with far-right supporters of Johnson’s struggle than with him. Liberals saved him from a movement to resign because of his consistent act of good government.
Johnson’s Trump feeling continued:” I’ve liked him”!
Additionally, according to Politico, Johnson was able to “neuter” Trump in the final stages of the foreign aid debate and support Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA ) decision to remove him as House leader.
Johnson’s response to Johnson’s attempt to destroy Trump during the debate over Ukraine support:
I have always been very forthright with him and very honest, and told him what I thought was in his best interest, in the country’s best interest, even if sometimes he did n’t necessarily agree. But on mirror, he generally says,” Mike is a really good person. He’s doing a really tough work”.
We have a great respect marriage, in my opinion. And he is aware that he appreciates that I am acting in good faith when I advise him of anything, grant him an idea, or tell him everything. And President Trump has a lot to learn from that.
When asked if he thought the former president may be fine with Johnson doing a Trump feeling, he said,” Oh, yeah. No, he did joke. We have a good time along. He’d probably been surprised by it, in my opinion. Folks love that. It humanizes him. And I think he’s got wet body”.
