Harvard University’s “encampment” is one of the last major pro- Palestinian ( effectively, pro- Hamas ) occupations still standing after police cleared demonstrators Friday from the nearby Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT ) and the University of Pennsylvania.
Police began clearing the camp and making arrests (original attention ) early on Friday morning at the MIT campus, according to The Tech, the student newspaper.

Encampment members and other pro-Palestine student protesters were escorted out of Kresge Oval and onto Mass Ave. within a few minutes.

At 7:38 AM, President Kornbluth described the events of this day and provided a timeline of significant developments since the camp’s establishment until its elimination in a declaration to the MIT community at 7:38 AM. According to Kornbluth,” she had no choice but to take down like a high-risk battleground right on our campus.”
Pro-Palestinian protesters and their supporters staged a protest on campus after that day to demand the camp be removed. Some chanted,” Oink, oink, piggy, piggy / we’re going to make your life sh*tty” , , The Tech reported.

The , Daily Pennsylvanian reported that 33 people were arrested at the Philadelphia school, “including” individuals:
At around 6 a.m. on Friday, Penn Police officials wearing mob products detained 33 people at the Gaza Solidarity Encampment with the assistance of Philadelphia Police.
On April 25th, the campment’s 16th evening, which kicked off in the afternoon, the tents were arrested and tents were cleared. On Tuesday, at least eight houses were moved out as the camp grew south of the Ben Franklin statue, occupying one circle of College Green up to 40. After about an hour, Penn Police officials finished detaining many people before releasing them from their tents.
…
The director added that 33 people were reportedly cited for angry breach and arrested “without affair.” They said that, after searching the camp, Penn Police found” some long length ( 6- 10 feet ) of heavy gauge stores, as well as smaller bars with nuts and bolts attached that could be used as weaponry”.
The , Daily Pennsylvanian noted that “at least” seven of the 33 arrestees were kids. Since the Hamas attack on October 7th, Penn, a town with a predominantly Jewish school, has been a hotspot of racist rhetoric and protests.
In a euphoric word for a typical Harvardian word, Harvard has warned the lots of protesters who are still occupying Harvard Yard to keep. May 22 will be the day of completion in the backyard.
