It is “incredible” to have an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, Utah Senate member Trent Staggs, Mayor of Riverton, Utah, said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, describing it as the “one of the most important assets” a candidate you have.
Staggs, running for establishment Sen. Mitt Romney’s ( R- UT) seat, expressed gratitude for his recent confirmation from the former president, who described Staggs as” 100 % MAGA”.

” It’s just incredible. I mean, great. I’ve been looking for this for some day. He said,” You know, I came out and supported President Trump last summer just as I was launching my campaign,” noting that he had the stated objective of challenging Sen. Mitt Romney, who is retiring.
He did n’t seem to have done anything particularly well for Utah. He was merely making fun of President Trump at all times. And in order to advance his plan, we need someone who can have his back and collaborate with him and these other wonderful American first lawmakers. Staggs explains that he received a visit from Trump on the way to the express agreement in April, saying that’s exactly what I promised to do right away.

What an extraordinary point that is, I mean, it’s just one of the most important assets I think we can include running for office, and even in this position of Utah, we saw a considerable increase at the convention”, he said, describing the Trump result.
” We ended up winning that, Matt, with 70 percentage of the members there present. I mean, that is extraordinary. We’ve never seen an open Senate agreement race in Utah that’s garnered more than 60 percent of the member vote, allow only 70 percent. And so really, really a huge impact to the plan now that we’ve got that convention”, he said, noting that he still has one more obstacle: getting through the main, as he does have opponents. However, he can win with a plurality, as Utah is not a runoff state. Staggs adds that the majority of Utah’s electorate supports Trump, which makes it crucial that voters know the former president supports him.
He said,” We need to make sure that everyone understands that President Trump has supported my candidacy and that I have a coalition of America first senators that are supportive, and that I can work with them from day one to really advance his America first agenda and get this country back on track,” stressing that his campaign is aimed at challenging the establishment.

” That’s what’s typified my career. Now ten going on 11 years in elected office, also in business, but that really resonated with folks. They want that. It is a food that everyone craves. They’re sick and tired of welcoming the same people to Washington who care more about their own self-interest and self-preservation than they do about representing the country’s interests. And they are aware of my proven track record of standing up for the people at all costs, he said, and we must spread that message.”
” That does require money”, he continued, noting that lobbyists and PACs are supporting his opponents, and he realizes that the establishment wants more swamp creatures.
” I have signaled to the people in Utah, and I think — across the country — these people that I have sought endorsements from, I want to align myself with them”, he said, noting his alignment with conservative Sen. Mike Lee ( R- UT) and others.
” They do n’t want me in there. He cited the fact that they want to have these other establishment figures fill Mitt Romney’s shoes and replace them as presidents who can “work with President Trump to advance this America first agenda” from day one.
