Simply unload Old Glory and chant the Star Spangled Banner. It’ll push’ em beans
At the beginning of this month, author Ani Wilcenski put out an interesting part in Tablet , titled” Standard Kids Getting F*cked”.
The article is full of instances of typical college students being let down by staff and administrators for their silly behavior, while whiny crybullies like these are given every possible consideration.
It starts out well enough, especially in the recent case of University of North Carolina frat guys who raised an American flag during one of the pro-Hamas whine fests ( below ) after having enough of anti-Israel activists ‘ antics. At Arizona State, something comparable happened.
But Wilcenski is correct in that the” smallest infractions” by fraternities, among other politically incorrect organizations, are used by universities (especially the Ivies ) as “grounds for immediate and sometimes harsh limitation”.
An unidentified tip against a number of clubs at Cornell, the page of some of the worst anti-Israel and racist behavior since October 7, resulted in the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards suspending some of them. The frats had severe restrictions on what they were permitted to do during the inspection.
Even though new members had already paid for the fraternity meal plan, one of the punishments was that they could n’t eat in the frat house. Why ca n’t we have food, as some students may recall that was a complaint of anti-Israel activists who had taken over campus buildings? We paid for a quarter of dining house privileges!
So, which was given more thought and discretion from school officials when an anonymous tip was given over improperly occupying a freakin’ building in plain sight?
A Cornell fraternity associate said,” The school will find any reason to get us in problem,” when a pair of 20-year-olds were arrested for allegedly holding bottles of Keystone Light. It seems like Cornell only wants to make things up with the regular students at this school, regular students who do n’t want to spend the day outside drinking beer at a frat party with their friends.
Another commentator said,” It’s not surprising that this was the school views a particular type of concept break as heroic and just, and different rule breaks by entitled jerks, so it’s obvious that the school views both.”

A perfect example of this occurred at the University of Mississippi, where NBC News (among others ) framed the interaction between that campus ‘ anti-Israel/antisemitic student body and a number of anti-protesters in this way:
A group of about 30 to 60 pro-Palestine protesters gathered on the rear and added to the list of presentations taking place on university campuses all over the country. However, the situation turned angry because counterprotesters, who at one stage sang” The Star-Spangled Banner” while outnumbering them, outnumber them.
Some people watched the event on video, and some saw that the pro-Palestine protesters appeared to be a multiracial group while being taunted by a predominately white group of counterprotesters.
The network and its supporters quickly realized what they had been looking for in a single person: a frat bro briefly captured on camera jumping around and making “ape” noises toward an overweight black female protester, part of which included calling her” Lizzo” ( she was once called” the finger” ) during her protest.

The student who made “ape” sound was detained on May 3 and is currently being investigated by the class. The Old Miss section of the NAACP wants the child expelled, along with two people. The Black Student Union at the university likewise echoed the video’s claim that the counter-protesters had “malicious intent” and” a notable lack of knowledge of the situation at hand.”
( The much- left NBC really included the following to, well, push the point home:” More than 100 years ago, the state’s senators voted to send all of its Black people to Africa. When the school was ordered by a federal judge to confess Black pupils in 1962, 2, 000 light citizens rioted …” Gosh, thanks. )
A couple ideas:
First and foremost, do n’t be an idiot and do what that one Ole Miss counter-top- rebel did. It does n’t matter the circumstances — there’s no excuse for that sort of garbage. In order to take advantage of it for all its worth, sources like NBC and civilization baiters like Jemele Hill ( not to mention institutions themselves ) are averse to this happening.
Singing the National Anthem, laughing and scoffing at the activists, and yes, even calling this particular woman” Lizzo” are fine ( for have n’t we been told how beautiful and awesome the singer is? ( Especially with the jargon and lingo used by some of the anti-Israel activists, such as “from the river to the sea,” which is only one of the placards displayed at the Ole Miss pro-Hamas gathering ).
Next, I’d advise conducting thorough research into the history of Israel and the foundation of Israel on campus if organizations like Old Miss’s Black Student Union want to raise “lack of knowledge.” You’ll discover a huge lack of knowledge. Not to mention personal- delusion.
Critically, given what I’ve seen and knowing the philosophy of the pro- Hamas school group, zero irritates them more than a group of counter- protesters garbed in dark, white and blue, all holding Old Glory, and singing the Star Spangled Banner and/or reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. That’s it — that’s all you gotta would. When protesters hear” Ooh state can you see…!” for the nth time, the dust will start to erupt from their ears. “!
( I have to admit that the most recent Tom Brady roast makes me optimistic that the days of waking up are upon us. ) Everyone on the stage — white, black, Jew, christian, queer, right — took it on the chin in a no- holds- barred joke fest, and even the continually woke Netflix, host of the show, was the brunt of some DEI- focused put downs. )
Keep in mind that today’s campus activists are not like Vietnam War protesters of the 1960s and early 1970s, nor civil rights protesters of the 1950s and 1960s. For lack of a better term, those people actually had skin in the game: the former fundamental rights under the American Constitution and the latter the right to not be sent off ten thousand miles to fight a war Washington DC was n’t prepared to win.
No, they’re taking a stand for one of the most brutally savage regimes of the 20th and early 21st centuries: Hamas and its allies. As such, they , deserve to be endlessly mocked.
