In an interview with Mobile, AL radio FM Talk 106.5, Rep. Barry Moore ( R- AL ), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, voiced his frustration over some of the decisions made by House Speaker Mike Johnson ( R- LA ) in his dealings with congressional Democrats.
Moore, who voted last week against the motion to veto Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA ) replacement, maintains that despite voting to keep it alive on the House floor, he would not have voted for Johnson to veto.
Nevertheless, he indicated he was disappointed with Johnson, who said he was taking” a hip” deep in the GOP’s place.

Our people are in a difficult position because of it. Some of these votes, whether it is FISA reauthorization, Israel funding tied to Ukraine for those of us who do n’t want to send any more money to Ukraine, we want some oversight on the money that has already been sent, we want some audits, you know those kinds of things — it puts some of these guys in a tough spot because you either because you either vote for Israel’s funding or you vote]against ] Ukraine’s funding. They should have been independent. Immediately, they should have been independent. Rather, the way we did it under the law, they simply move it up to the Senate. It’s more income for Ukraine. Some of the cash we’re sending to Taiwan will be diverted to Ukraine.
This love affair with Ukraine has me wondering what’s wrong with our people, but it places them in difficult circumstances. We’ve given him a few landing places, so I’m not sure why Mike Johnson. With the cash from Israel and the Ukraine, we could have easily introduced the border security bill a few weeks ago to aid in border security. However, we had a distinct voting on those and the rules, which I believe he did because he just rolled over to the Democrats ‘ desires. So now, in the Senate, they do n’t even worry about the border. Simply put, they have the option of sending more funds to Ukraine.
And that’s just for Republicans who are seated below. That’s concerning. And one thing I said, Jeff, is when we were going through this McCarthy thing, I always said when we get the majority, we ca n’t take a knee deep in our own territory. With Mike Johnson, we’re taking a knee, and I do n’t appreciate that because when Pelosi was the speaker by golly, the Dems did n’t take a knee. They moved us deep in their own country. They began funding this wide-open border material in a ridiculous way. We must become “holding the collection,”
” The concern, the problem with Mike is he’s reluctant if we threaten to shut down the government, that the Republicans may get damaged in November. But in some way, that was the utilize we had, and we simply were unable to agree to the decision to shut it down, repair it, and start it again before moving forward with the plan to drive it off the cliff. We should n’t be riding shotgun if the Democrats want to eject this nation.
And I think the problem with Johnson is he’s really, he’s not in a position to struggle, or not willing to fight, hold the line, and he’s getting bad advice from within his own circle.
