After members criticized the gathering as racist, Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine, the underfunded student organization that was organizing the Harvard Yard camp, removed the poster that depicted time Harvard President Alan M. Garber ’76 as a lord.
The banner depicted Garber, who is Jewish, with ears and a neck sitting on a bathroom, and a message that stated” Alan Garbage money genocide”.
After concerns were raised, HOOP stated in a speech to The Crimson that the firm “adopted the banner with a lot of caution and awareness.”
