In addition to international organizations, the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF) announced on Saturday that it had established a field hospital in central Gaza to provide care for Palestinians while the Hamas conflict is still raging.
The IDF’s latest assault on the last Hamas troops in Rafah, which has drawn criticism from the United States and other nations due to concerns for charitable issues, comes as the new doctor arrives.
The IDF said in a speech:
The International Medical Corps, in collaboration with the IDF and COGAT, announced today ( Saturday ) the opening of a new field hospital in the Gaza Strip. In the area of Ain al-Balah in the center of Gaza Strip, a field hospital was established and has since begun running. The IDF and COGAT’s philanthropic efforts include ensuring that Gaza’s civil population receives medical aid as part of this coordination.
The creation of the doctor was coordinated and enabled through the passage of health workers and health products, including medicines, beds, meals, water, tents, second aid equipment, ventilators, and materials for the construction of the field hospital, via the Kerem Shalom Crossing following security checks. The field hospital’s hundreds of beds will be used for both regular and emergency medical care, and 150 global medical aid workers will operate it.
Since the start of the war, there have been seven different area hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Deir al-Balah, which serves as a humanitarian aid hub for the partially evacuated northeast Rafah residents, is where it is located. Some of the existing area hospitals were moved to the expanded Humanitarian Area in Al-Mawasi in cooperation with the international community, where there are more tents, food, water, and medicine as part of charitable efforts to promote the momentary evacuation of civilians from the southeast Rafah region.
To provide humanitarian assistance to the human population in Gaza, the IDF and COGAT may continue to operate in accordance with international law.
The IDF has found terrorists in many of Gaza’s existing hospitals, using the facilities — in violation of international law — to conceal fighters, business weapons, slip hostages, operate knowledge facilities, and start military attacks.
