A documented assault on Tara Johnson, a Trump voluntary, outside a local Republican Party offices is being investigated by the Athens, Alabama Police Department.
Tara Johnson, described as a “dedicated Democratic volunteer” in a media release from the Alabama Republican Party, was assaulted outside the Limestone County, AL GOP Trump Headquarters over the weekend.
Johnson serves as the result charity despite physical limitations caused by health issues, according to Alabama Republican Party contacts director Jeannie Negrón Burniston.
According to Burniston, Johnson was in Johnson’s car when the intruder “grabbed her by the mane, repeatedly punched her in the face, and slammed her head against the entrance of her truck.”
According to Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl, the assault on Tara Johnson is a terrible act of violence that has no place in our world. This is very private to me because I have spent many years working on the Limestone County Executive Committee with Tara. Tara is more than just a volunteer; she is also a nice and kind person who is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. This pointless act of violence against her has shocked and outraged us.
The Athens Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the assault, he continued.” We urge anyone with information to come forth and help in bringing the perpetrators to justice,” he continued. Violence should not be tolerated in our social conversation, and those accountable must be held accountable for their actions. In times of political hardships, it is important that we come up and restate our responsibility to politeness, admiration, and peaceful political commitment. I urge the Democrat Party and the media to stop using aggressive language that targets Donald Trump and his supporters. Political opponents ‘ constant vilification and denigration only contribute to department and division in our society. We can and should perform greater.”
