The Qatari and other Arab contributions may offer a clue, as they help pay for hundreds of teaching positions, for those who have wondered why so many faculty members at California campuses like UC Berkeley, Stanford, USC, UCLA, and UC Santa Barbara enthusiastically participate in the ongoing protests.
