Bashaw hopes to defeat Mendham Mayor Christine Serano Glassner, who was endorsed by Trump, in the Garden State Republican election.

Along with serving as a significant ally of Chris Christie, Bashaw also worked for the Chinese State Construction Engineering Corporation ( CSCEC ), a state-owned construction firm with strong ties to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army ( PLA ) and has been accused of corruption.
Cape Advisors, which was co-managed by Bashaw, collaborated with China Construction America’s investment arm to invest$ 140 million in a home project in Manhattan’s Hudson Square community.
The package was “one of its main focuses over the past two years,” according to Cape Advisors at the time . Strategic Capital, which is the purchase arm of China Construction America, inc- developed the house with Cape Advisors.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the largest engineering and construction firm by income, is a subsidiary of China Construction America.

The majority of the stocks are also owned by the Chinese government, a holdover from the days when the government controlled every business, according to CNBC, despite the parent company’s publicly sold Shanghai stock exchange.
The Taiwanese state- owned construction firm, which Bashaw worked with, has had a record of discussion.
The Taiwanese condition- owned structure company Bashaw worked in 2019 was  , blacklisted by the World Bank “due to its role in collusive techniques and bribery scandals in the Philippines ,  , concerning the , Philippines National Roads Improvement and Management Program”.
According to the report,” Beijing had bugged the African Union HQ, which was constructed by the CSCEC in Ethiopia, and for five years, data from Computers used in the PRC-built building  had been transferred to Chinese machines. In early 2022,  , a lawsuit was filed in a Kenyan court , against the CSCEC due to fraud claims. A regulator organization determined that the judge had requested that the business not continue to work in Kenya and go against Kenya’s laws and regulations.
According to the United States Department of Defense, the CSCEC has close ties to the People’s Liberation Army ( PLA ).
Trump, the then-President, forbade Americans from funding 31 Chinese firms that were slated to support the Army, including the Chinese State Construction business. CSCEC was even accused of” digital espionage” by the Trump administration.
One time prior to Bashaw’s divorcing, President Trump forbade Americans from holding investment in a business with close ties to the PLA, according to Bashaw.
In February, Jeanette Hoffman, a spokeswoman for Bashaw’s plan, said that Bashaw made “zero money on this New York City Project”, and accused Serrano- Glassner of” spreading exotic theories”.
Along with his relations to Chinese state associated businesses, Bashaw shared an essay that Trump is a “powerful alliance” in the “forces of illiberalism”.
Serrano Glassner said she would support Trump’s America First objective if she were elected to the Senate, in contrast to Bashaw.
” I’m happy to have President Trump’s support, and I look forward to working hand-in-hand with him to Discharge the Swamp and Make America Great Again,” Serano Glassner said.
