According to its site, Seafood ring Red Lobster has shut down 100 locations in the US.
One hundred Red Lobster places in Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, California, and Florida, were listed as closed on the business website , as of Tuesday.
CEO and Founder of TAGeX Brands, Neal Sherman, announced in a , post , on LinkedIn on Monday that his business would be hosting” the largest restaurant bankruptcy” through an online auction. The TAGex , website , listed bids for 48 Red Lobster areas throughout the U. S. that had been closed and would be auctioning off kitchen things and equipment from the spots.
Red Lobster sites in , La Crosse, Wisconsin,  , Watertown, New York, Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Bloomingdale and Danville, Illinois, were among the franchises that were , closed.
All three areas in Jacksonville, Florida, were likewise listed as being closed, according to the restaurant company’s site.
One staff from the Red Lobster in Buffalo, New York,  , told WKBW that he found out about the cafe closing from one of the waiters, and not from business.
” I’m getting enquiries after calling this day and my son Don called me and he’s like,’ You may come in right today,'” Ramon Garcia told the store. ” I’m like,’ Why, I’m off now,’ and he’s like,’ Man, you just need to travel in because there’s a lot of things going on.'”
The initial Red Lobster place was opened in Lakeland, Florida, in 1968, and now the seafood network has more than 700 locations throughout the world.
This comes almost a quarter after Red Lobster considered declaring bankruptcy after its$ 11 million loss from their all-you-can-eat crab campaign in 2023.
” For those who have been in the US lengthy,$ 20 was quite cheap”, Red Lobster CFO Ludovic Garnier said in a speech in November. The logic behind this campaign was to claim that while the price was reasonable, the goal was to increase traffic to the restaurants.
ThaiUnion, a Thailand- based company that specializes in producing shellfish- based items, bought a play in Red Lobster in 2020. ThaiUnion announced in January 2024 that it would be leaving Red Lobster and losing$ 530 million from its investment in the business.
