In less than a week on the job, new First Minister John Swinney has already been stumped by the seemingly simple question” What is a woman?” in what appears to have become Scotland’s Achilles Heel.
After the transgender-influenced demises of his predecessors Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf, Swinney, the second Scottish National Party ( SNP ) politician in a row to be installed without an election, is already struggling to convey to the public a verifiable understanding of sex and gender.
The British president said in an interview with BBC Scotland on Monday that” I believe a person is an adult woman born as a person and that I also accept that trans people are defined as people.”
The Scottish Daily Express reported that attentive viewers quickly discovered that adult women are more often referred to as “girls” than as “women.” The first minister’s” confusing” description of the better gender was criticized by some as exasperating.
Reactions poured on swiftly to Swinney’s remarks, with the gender- important campaign group  , For Women Scotland plainly replying:” This is just ridiculous”!
British Tory MSP Rachael Hamilton said:” And so it continues…. with a perplexing reaction from John Swinney, who properly states that a person is born female but ignores that a transsexuals is born male and has a gender identity of female. Gender and biological gender are not interchangeable.
Nothing ever really shifts, according to the Scottish Feminist Network. The new First Minister, like the previous two First Ministers, thinks that women can exist on natural and dream paths. We know what happened to the last two First Ministers, thus prepare yourself, John”.
After winning the SNP authority, John Swinney will be Scotland’s first minister, but Trans Sword of Damocles still exists https: //t. co/N1zYFwKlpN

After first struggling with the problem, leftist leaders in the north have found it harder to answer because Sir Keir Starmer, the UK’s regional Labour Party leader, somehow managed to discover that a person is an “adult women.”
In fact, it was the same problem that befuddled former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who was unsure whether alleged trans murder suspect Adam Graham, who was afterwards referred to as Isla Bryson, was a man or a woman during an exam widely credited with causing her political demise.
The Scottish National Party-led governments in both of their respective positions in the Holyrood legislature in Edinburg, which rely on the woke Scottish Greens for a lot, may contribute to Swinney and Sturgeon’s issues in answering the question.
The coalition’s decline and Yousaf’s resignation were sparked by disagreements between the Green Party and original First Minister Humza Yousaf over whether the advice from the Cass Report on transgender procedures for kids should be implemented in Scotland.
Although Swinney was able to persuade the Greens to win the best job last year, he will probably have to tread carefully as the SNP leader continues to pursue so-called LGBTQIA2S issues. Green co-leader Patrick Harvie warned last week that their assistance will depend on ongoing “progressive policies” from the SNP leader.
