The European Union urged Israel to “immediately close its military activity in Gaza’s Rafah,” according to AFP, warning that failing to do so would sour relationships with the union.
According to Josep Borrell, the EU’s head of foreign plan,” If Israel maintain its military operation in Rafah, it would unavoidably put a lot of strain on the relationship with Israel.”
The statement read,” The European Union urges Israel to immediately stop its defense operation in Rafah,” noting that it was “further disrupting the supply of humanitarian assistance in Gaza and is causing more internal movement, exposure to hunger, and human suffering.”

More than a million persons in and around Rafah had been ordered by Israel to flee the area to other areas the UN says cannot be considered healthy, according to the union, which is the primary support donation for the Palestinian territories and Israel’s biggest trading partner.
” While the EU recognises Israel’s right to defend itself, Israel must do so in line with International Humanitarian Law and provide safety to civilians”, it said.
Israel must permit humanitarian aid, the statement asserted.
A Hamas attack on the Kerem Shalom border crossing, which hampered humanitarian aid, was also condemned by the EU.
