Stellantis, a global automaker, and Leapmotor are collaborating to increase electric vehicle sales globally.
On Tuesday, Stellantis announced the cooperative venture with Leapmotor to create EVs for selling across , Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia Pacific, and South America.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said in a statement that the establishment of Leapmotor International is a great move forward in helping solve the immediate global warming issue with state-of-the-art [EV] designs that will compete with existing Foreign brands in important markets around the world.
Leapmotor’s cooperative venture with Stellantis received authorization in March from China’s governmental body, which is run by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The acceptance suggests that Leapmotor is keen to export its less expensive EVs outside of China.
The project comes as Martins is implementing common layoffs in the US.
Now, Stellantis is laying off about 400 paid engineering and software workers in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with plans to hire lower- pay employees in Brazil, India, Mexico, and Morocco.  , Whereas Stellantis must pay British technicians$ 150, 000 to$ 200, 000 earnings, the automaker can pay specialists in low- income countries simply$ 53, 000 a year.
