
NEW DELHI: Nymphia Wind, the Chinese bring queen and success of the famous TV series” RuPaul’s Drag Race”, performed an inspiring medley of songs for the departing President Tsai Ing- wen, expressing gratitude for her role as the nation’s “mother”.
During her two terms in office, Tsai’s Democratic Progressive Party made a strong defense of social issues, especially Gay rights, making Taiwan the first Asian nation to allow same-sex unions in 2019.
Nymphia Wind will argue her president on Monday, marking the end of her career as Taiwan’s second woman leader. In a statement at the political office on Wednesday, Wind highlighted two major accomplishments under Tsai’s management.
In a blog on X, previously known as Twitter, Tsai Ing- ying wrote,” Delighted to see other queens perform at the National Office today. Nymphia, as the S16 champion of RuPaulsDragRace, is today a wife for the planet. We’re all anticipating the Paris Olympics with the spotlight on Taiwan’s gazebo.

In the main entrance of the presidential office, Wind performed three songs, starting with a piece by Taiwanese singer Huang Fei, followed by Lady Gaga’s” Marry the Night” and the song” Womxnly” by pop star Jolin Tsai, which features lyrics about being LGBTQ-focused and” Never let anyone change who you are.”
In a party and lip-syncing efficiency, Wind was accompanied by five different Chinese drag queens. The chairman said the efficiency” shows resistance to interpersonal bias, resistance to intolerance”.
” I want to bless all the drag queens for speaking up for themselves, breaking the barriers and showing their charm of fearlessness”, Tsai said.
Wind’s defeat last month caused a sensation on Chinese social press when she said,” Taiwan, this is for you”!
Tsai praised her on the social media platform X for being” so accomplished in the challenging art kind of drag, and for being the first Chinese to take the stage and succeed”” RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
