Despite having the capacity to house thousands of people, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) agency only has five rooms in its detention facility in California.
The Adelanto ICE Processing Center located in southern California you hold about 1, 940 people, but, according to an archaic coronavirus policy, just five people are currently detained in the facility, according to the New York Post.
The Adelanto ICE Processing Center may greatly reduce its criminal people, according to the Los Angeles Times, which a judge ordered in September 2020. At the time, out of the 781 individuals housed at the hospital, 81 had tested good for COVID- 19, nine of whom required treatment.
According to the judge’s order, ICE was directed to create a “population reduction plan” that would allow for the confinement of six feet of confinement, prevent further eating from six, and require workers to keep a six-foot separation, among other things.

The Adelanto ICE Processing Center is also subject to the court’s order despite President Joe Biden signing a bill in April 2023 that ended the pandemic federal emergency declaration.
Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA ) has criticized ICE and the Department of Justice for sticking to the outdated policy and demanded that both organizations “lift” it.
Border Patrol agents have been having trouble navigating the thousands of illegal migrants crossing the southwestern border into the United States, despite the facility’s capacity to hold more people.

In April, 37, 000 illegal migrants were apprehended by Border Patrol agents in the San Diego business.

According to Fox News, ICE extended the Adelanto ICE Processing Center’s analysis by 120 time after it was apparently scheduled to close in December. In order to “evaluate the effects of ongoing litigation” and the costs associated with running and maintaining the service, ICE had recently conducted a 60-day evaluation of the digesting center.
