The Macedonia fire chief described Wednesday’s explosion, which is currently under investigation, as a” tragic industrial accident” . ,
” We know it involves calcium hydroxide”, Ripley said. ” We’re not exactly sure what happened yet”.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health ( NIOSH) claims that those who come into contact with sodium hydroxide may be at risk. According to WHIO TV7, Macedonia Mayor Nick Molnar assured reporters that the area’s inhabitants were protected from any possible chemical exposure. “( It ) is completely safe to drink the water and breathe the air”, Molnar stated.
