Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL ) criticized New York prosecutors for what he perceived as a “witch hunt” against the former president after making an appearance in New York City on Monday alongside former president Donald Trump.
According to Alabama’s top U. S. Senator, the jury looked “bored” during the lawyer’s star hear Michael Cohen’s evidence. Additionally, he claimed that the courtroom’s range of assistant district attorneys suggested the prosecution was” their Super Bowl.”
” Yeah, I went up there to support a friend, Donald Trump, and a true American, and I hope it’s going to be the next president”, Tuberville said in an interview Wednesday that aired on Mobile, AL stereo FM Chat 106.5. ” It’s clearly a witch hunt. We know that. You know, they had 20 associate district attorneys in there. They are going after the man they all want to take down to get a hole in their gun, and this is their Super Bowl. Since he made his presidential work, this has been planned.
” And, of course, they want to create it as hard on President Trump as they could”, he continued. They always used” President Trump” in their address. They call him’ Mr. Trump.’ And, you know, he’s but disliked by the departed. This wo n’t work, I promise. I sat there and watched the judges, and there was 15 — three switches, half women, half people. And, you know, they look really indifferent. There is no way they can persuade everyone that this phony Michael Cohen has no legitimacy whatsoever. You know, he’s been in prison for lying”.
” Thus, that being said, I went away and, you know, he’s got a gag order on him”, Tuberville added. And I went out and spoke on his behest. He ca n’t speak like the rest of us can. You saw more people come yesterday, attempting to reveal the full extent of what’s actually happening. But — spent all day with the president, had breakfast with him, had breakfast with him. You know, he’s certainly, you know, chomping at the parts to get out there and plan every day. But that’s what it is. You have to go through the program, and the truth will prevail. And as we get through this one, obviously, he’s got a couple more he’s got to look at down the way, but I do n’t think those will really make it to the court”.
