Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg has made a storm mary try to save the Conservative Party from political destruction by asking Rishi Sunak to provide Nigel Farage and senior Reform UK figures the chance to be Tory MPs and possibly government members in an election pact.
Rees- Mogg, the original company secretary and campaigner, pitched a rerun of 2019, in which Boris Johnson’s Conservatives and Nigel Farage teamed up to” Get It Done” by leaving important constituencies to maintain a majority against the Labour Party.
But again, Sir Jacob has argued that honorary president Nigel Farage, his lieutenant Ben Habib, and reform British innovator Richard Tice should be allowed to represent the Conservatives and that Farage should be assured of a cabinet position in order to lighten the situation.

” With the help of Nigel Farage in a Liberal government, as a Traditional minister, with Boris Johnson definitely returning as foreign secretary and welcoming the likes of Ben Habib and Richard Tice into our party, as well as pursuing really conservative policies,  , winning the next election , immediately becomes within reach”, Rees- Mogg said on Tuesday.
Mr. Farage and Sir Jacob largely agreed on the changes required in the Tory party, namely gaining control of mass migration, during a mock negotiation that took place on GB News. Farage said they should be in the same party because the two had reached an agreement.
The Brexit boss, however, claimed to have underestimated the “level of contempt that the Conservative Party” in the nation is feeling given the country’s history, with many voters who had previously voted Tory feeling betrayed by the record waves of immigration that were allowed into the nation following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.
Farage claimed that the Conservative party allowed more people to settle in this nation in 2022 and 2023 than they did in 1066 and 2010 and that an election pact with Reform would not reverse the magnitude of the betrayal.

Farage said in a more fundamental way that while there was a lot of kinship between himself and Rees Mogg, this could not be said for much of the falsely named Conservative Party, many of whom are more like Clinton-style Democrats than small-c conservatives in the style of Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher.
” You are Jacob… not amongst the members, not amongst the voters, but within the Parliamentary party, you are outnumbered three or four to one. You do
not fit the current Conservative Parliamentary Party’s center of gravity,” he claimed.
According to Sir Jacob, who backed back from a realpolitik perspective, the majority of Tory MPs are less ideological and are more concerned with preserving their seat in Parliament, which could influence them to adopt a Faragist platform, provided it was supported by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
He claimed that” we just this coalition together and we can get there” because” the majority of conservative members are there, the majority of conservative voters are there.”
The proposal does not receive much support from other members of the Tory party, however, with the Daily Telegraph, the newspaper that is most closely linked to the Conservatives, reporting that unions within the party “unequivocally” ruled out any deal in which Reform figures were given a chance to stand as Conservatives in the general election.
Although Mr. Farage did not specifically reject the idea, Reform UK leader Richard Tice reiterated his commitment to stick to an election pact, telling the paper:” There will be no agreements with the Tories. They are using our policy platform as a sort of pretext for the issues they believe should be addressed by gender identification, solar farms, immigration, and other issues.
” But we know it’s just electioneering. Fourteen years of failure, of zero delivery, shows they cannot be believed. We are neither voters nor that stupid. Nobody is paying attention to the untrustworthy Tories who make a few statements and then say something else.
