As a means of preventing racial injustice, the Justice Department’s decision to convert weed from a Schedule I medicine to a Schedule III was praised by the White House on Thursday.
According to White House press director Karine Jean- Pierre, downgrading cannabis will “barriers to important research”. It will also develop on clemency and sentence commutations Biden has provided to people convicted for , federal , and Washington, D. C.,  , offenses , of plain possession, which has lifted another “barriers” to housing to small business loans.
” The reality is while light, dark, and colored people use cannabis, black and brown people have been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted at proportionally higher costs”, Jean- Pierre told reporters Thursday. The president’s actions immediately further his commitment to end decades of injustices and correct traditional mistakes.
The White House’s increased awareness to black voters comes as they weigh in on his 2020 reelection prospects despite their concerns over Biden’s administration in recent polls. The White House celebrated the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overthrow institutionalized racist segregation in public schools by touting more than$ 16 billion in funding previously black colleges and universities this year.
