Harrison Butker’s kick on Thursday on ABC’s” The See,” Whoopi Goldberg, informed her co-hosts on Thursday that while discussing the controversy surrounding his school commencement speech at Benedictine College, he has a First Amendment right to discuss his ideas.
Goldberg said,” So, the NFL released a statement that he gave this speech in his private capacity, and they do not, the NFL does not share his views. But, you know, listen, I like when individuals say what they need to claim. He’s at a Catholic university. He is a fervent Catholic. These are his views, and he’s welcome to them. I do n’t have to believe them. I do n’t have to accept them. The women in that visitors do not have to take them. We want respect for people whose thoughts are different from ours in the same way Colin Kaepernick does when he kneels.
She added,” Because the man who says he wants to become president, you- understand- who, he says the way to work is taking away women’s right to say how they feel. We do n’t want to be that. We do n’t want to be those people, so I’m okay with him saying whatever he says. The women who were sitting there, if they take his advice, good for them, they’ll be happy, if they do n’t, good for them, they’ll be happy a different way. That’s my attitude”.
