Democrats appear to have largely accepted the solid chance that former US president Donald Trump will win the presidency in 2024.
They are looking at the polls, which regularly show Trump leading in many of the thus- called “battleground” state. They are following reports of Trump’s criminal prosecution in Manhattan, where prosecutors are failing to convince the people, or the anti- Trump broadcast pundits, yet if they do manage to convince the judge.
They are watching the racist riots on college colleges, which are a hazard for Democrats.
Biden asserted that he ran for president in August 2017 as a result of the neo-Nazi mob in Charlottesville. Biden predicted that there would be even more crime if Trump were to win the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. In his Inaugural target, Biden used the term “unity” eight days. And he made the promise to eradicate” widespread racism” in America.
Now there is conflict on lots of colleges, with images that look like they from the 1930s, as Biden likes to say of Charlottesville.
At some universities, authorities allowed masked pro- Hamas activists to patrol the boundaries of their “encampments”, setting up checkpoints and excluding anyone visibly Jewish, or anyone who professed to be a” Zionist” ( i. e. someone who believes the State of Israel should exist ). They assaulted editors, vandalized houses, and demanded treats.
If Biden is reelected, the thuggery will undoubtedly persist, in large part because he has not done anything to quit it.
He offered a few words of criticism, but peppered with thoughts of love for the protesters. Despite earlier pursuing families who had dared to attend school board sessions to issue extreme beliefs like transgenderism and Critical Race Theory, his Department of Justice failed to act or conduct an investigation into the protest’s organizers and donors.
Also, university administrators have frequently capitulated to the pro- Arab “encampments”, offering them meetings to discuss investment policy, cutting off Israeli” research abroad” programs, and agreeing to drop pending administrative charges against students.
The pro- Israeli movement — including Hamas terrorists, who applauded the “encampments” — has then learned that breaking the rules functions, and that there is no penalty for racism.
The demonstrations, which were reportedly directed at” Genocide Joe,” show that Biden is losing support among “progressives” and young voters. The demonstrations are also alienating residential voters who were desperate for security after supporting Biden in the election in 2020.
The protests are just another illustration of a concern that Biden is unable to or unwilling to power, from the border chaos to the massive spending that sparked inflation in 2021 and increased the national debt.
Democrats continue to believe that Trump’s numerous criminal investigations, including those in New York and Georgia, and those in D.C. and Florida, will place him in jail or at least tarnish his reputation.
However, the New York case appears to be a hoax, the Georgia prosecutor has serious moral issues, the Florida case has been delayed eternally, and the D.C. case could collapse if the Supreme Court rejects one of the important charges.
So Democrats are starting to experience truth. More crying, as they did in 2016 when caught by wonder, they are preparing for battle. In California, Attorney General Rob Bonta is , preparing claims to prevent Trump plans. Officials in Washington are now putting together a ton of regulations to control Trump 2.0.
The strategy is merely beginning, and with ballot- by- email, there are no guarantees. But to some Liberals, it may as well be over now.
