Harrison Butker, a Kansas City Chiefs star kick, has been accused of promoting Catholic values in a conversation at a Catholic school, as defended by Catholic League leader Bill Donohue.
Butker has been “bashed”, Dr. Donohue notes, for his condemnation of gender ideology, infertility, death, and pregnancy, and for his outspoken help of the profession to marriage in his initiation address at Benedictine College.
Donohue points out that Benedictine College is “part of a cluster of liberal Catholic colleges that proclaim their commitment to church teachings and exercise — component of a larger liberal movement in parts of the U.S. Catholic Church,” according to Donohue.
This is because Georgetown, which “has two pro-choice leagues on campus and has a segregated graduation ceremony for transgender kids,” is AP’s thought of a great Catholic school, Donohue adds.
In his searing accusation of mainstream press, Donohue observes that had Butker “endorsed transsexuals, or Hamas, he would now be praised to great heaven”.
” The invasion has three goals: Butker, Benedictine College and Catholicism. Make no mistake, the conflict on Butker is driven by pro- Catholicism”, Donohue proposes.
Mike Freeman of USA Today made accusations against Butker over his assertion that some women have a career to marriage and children.
” Her career? Actually? Did I travel back in time and experience a “fantasy” as I flew through day? Freeman asks, livid.
Donohue, who is a professional psychologist, notes that in point of fact, it is Freeman who is out of contact with true Americans, never Butker.
According to a 2019 Gallup poll, 50 % of women with children under the age of 18 said they would prefer to stay at home, compared to only 40 %, according to Donohue.
The remaining cannot, either, forgive Butker for criticizing Catholic Joe Biden for holding the cross at a pro-choice march that one bishop described as” sacrilegious.”
Donohue criticized him for the NFL’s choice to distance itself from Harrison Butker in a follow-up paragraph on May 17 with a letter he wrote to Roger Goodell.
” Harrison Butker speaks for millions of Americans, never all of whom are Catholic”, Donohue writes. You have shown repulsive contempt for him, Benedictine College, and Catholicism.
