In a recent report, 16 women’s attorneys for the well-known magician David Copperfield refute accusations that span decades of sexual misconduct and unacceptable behavior.
More than half the ladies who are named in a Guardian U.S. research that was released on Tuesday claimed to be teenagers at the time of the reported incidents, which date from the late 1980s to 2014, and that the magician allegedly drugged three ladies before engaging in sexual activity with them because they feared giving in to their own inability to notice. Four of the women alleged that during live performances on stage, they were groped or forced to contact the artist in a physical manner, according to the report.
Copperfield’s attorneys told the release that the claims are” not only completely bogus but also entirely impossible”.
The 67-year-old’s legal associates rather described him as a hero of the# MeToo activity and said he “never acted badly with people, let alone someone young.” They said a” accurate” portrayal of Copperfield would explain his “kindness, fear and cure of men and women with value”.
The , Las Vegas headliner , has been dogged by allegations of wrongdoing for decades, which his counsel characterized as “numerous fake says” made against him.
A rep for Copperfield more refuted the claims made in the Guardian record in a declaration to The Times on Thursday, saying they were a repeat of misleading claims made in the past.
” Everyone who has met David Copperfield will tell you that the allegations made in one magazine are utterly untrue. In truth, David has a track record of putting his job at risk against strong animals, according to the statement. The majority of these ancient complaints have been made before, and they are all as false as they were then.
The agent continued that Copperfield requested “evidence” from which the claims could count, adding that when U.S. law enforcement looked into the matter,” they have been investigated completely and it has been discovered that there is simply no event to answer.”
” The Guardian’s description is not who David is, and he continues to support anyone who has experienced any form of abuse or discrimination”, the statement continued. ” The movements may succeed, but fake accusations must quit for it to bloom. David will be discussing the situation with his legal team and will get any necessary actions in response to these fake and obscene claims.
Copperfield, among the first post- Houdini superstar illusionists, was likewise among , some important figures , named in late sealed court documents , that were said to have been associated with Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced late financier accused of organizing a sex trafficking ring involving girls as young as 14.
