The body of one of the hostages that Hamas took on October 7, 2023, according to the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF) had been found during an operation in Gaza.
In a post on X, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, a spokesman for the IDF, revealed that a special joint operation between the IDF and the Israeli Security Agency ( ISA ), also known as the ShinBet, had recovered Ron Benjamin’s body, 53, who had been taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.
Benjamin’s body was recovered along with the systems of Yitzhak Gelranter, Shani Louk, and Amit Buskila.
Hagari explained that “verified knowledge information” showed that Benjamin had been murdered on October 7 when Hamas attacked Israel, leaving 1, 200 people dying and more than 250 citizens taken as victims. Benjamin’s body was taken” to Gaza by Hamas extremists”.
The later Ron Binyamin was killed during the terrible criminal attack on October 7 in the Mefalim assault, according to vetted intelligence reports that were available, and his body was taken by Hamas extremists to Gaza, Hagari wrote on Saturday.

According to the “intelligence direction of the Captives and Missing Persons Command in the brains office,” the joint activity conducted by the IDF and ISA was “based on information” that was received from terrorists who had been “arrested in the Gaza Strip” and examined.

According to the Times of Israel, Hamas terrorists kidnapped Benjamin after returning home from a bike journey on October 7 after lights went off around 6:30 a.m. after he heard lights come off.
There are still about 130 captives being held by Hamas in Gaza, despite the release of some victims. Out of the captives taken by Hamas, the IDF believes 40 are useless.
