At the Morehouse College graduation meeting on Sunday, President Joe Biden spoke about competition and the Gaza combat, among other issues.
Biden’s initiation address to the previously black university in Atlanta, Georgia, did not feature any interruptions, despite concerns after blazing anti- Israel protests on campuses across the country in the past fortnight. The president thanked the graduating class, telling them that By obtaining a degree from Morehouse College, they were a part of a spiritual tradition.
During the conversation, Biden invoked race many times — crediting the grief over the death of Dr.  , Martin Luther King , Jr. in 1968 for his decision to enter common services. King graduated from Morehouse College.
” Dr. King’s tradition had a profound effect on me and my era, whether you’re black or white. I recently left the upscale law firm and made the decision to work as a public defender, and then as a state government working to alter the politics in our state, Biden said.” I want to support the cause of legal rights,” he said.
At the time, Delaware‘s Democratic Party was a southeastern Democratic Party. We wanted to convert it to the” Northern Democratic Party”
Biden praised the diversity of his administration, including Kamala Harris ‘ visit as the first black woman vice president and Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.
Biden claimed that he was proud to have” the first Black person on the United States Supreme Court” and that “undoubtedly a Morehouse person will be on that judge as well one moment.”
” No doubt a Morehouse person will remain president one day— only after an Or from Howard”, Biden added, in reference to Harris, who was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a historically Black college, during her day at Howard University.
He acknowledged student protests over the Gaza war, saying that he heard their pleas even as he encountered silent protests during his speech. Biden also touted his administration’s policies — specifically on race and funding for HBCUs.
” I’ve defended the rights of workers on the picket line.” Many of you already had the benefit of it because of the student debt I’m easing, Biden said. The Supreme Court subsequently told me that I could not, so I found two other ways to go about it.
” And I, in addition to the original$ 7 billion investment HBCUs, I’m investing 16 billion more dollars for our history because you’re vital to our nation”, he added.
Biden also criticizes those who he claims are breaking free speech laws in Georgia.

” Today in Georgia, they wo n’t allow water to be available to you while you wait in line to vote in the election. What the hell’s that all about? I’m serious, think about it”, Biden said. ” And then constant attacks on black election workers who count your vote, insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol with Confederate flags are called patriots by some. Not in my house”.
He also took direct aim at former President Donald Trump, denouncing his election opponent’s remarks about illegal immigrants “poisoning” the blood of the country.
