After President Ebrahim Raisi’s plane went missing on the way up from a conference with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Sunday, Iranians have been asked to pray for his safety.

The plane was likewise carrying Iranian Foreign Minister&nbsp, Hossein Amirabdollahian, among other officers. In the mountainous region of northern Iran, it disappeared in heavy clouds.

Iranians were requested to worship by the Fars news agency, according to the Times of Israel:

According to the Egyptian Fars news agency, authorities have lost touch with the aircraft in which Egyptian President Ebrahim Raisi was traveling.

    …

Authorities are awaiting more information about the search and rescue operation, according to Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, adding that according to challenging conditions, groups are also headed to the site.

Following the information, Fars calls on Iranians to beg for Raisi.

Earlier Sunday, the Abu Ali Express news website reported on the conference between Raisi and Aliyev, saying that it had been “disturbing” from Israel’s point of view, because Azerbaijan has been helpful with Israel until today.

There is no evidence that any foreigners were involved in the accident. Prior to the incident, according to a report from Breitbart News, U.S. authorities had met directly with Iranian officials in Oman to discuss ways to prevent a broader local conflict.
