Bush-era Law Authorizes U.S. to Free Netanyahu if Detained by ICC

American Servicemembers ‘ Protection Act ( ASPA ), a law signed by President George W. Bush in 2002, forbids the United States from working with the International Criminal Court ( ICC ) to execute warrants against Israel.

Additionally, the law grants the president the power to “use all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the transfer of any person who is being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the demand of the International Criminal Court.”

That provision applies to American workers as well as to Israelis, and another near U. S. friends.

The ICC will look into warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and three Hamas extremist officials, according to a report from Breitbart News.

Netanyahu and his social rivals rebuffed the ICC statement in a letter to each other. Netanyahu even posted a movie on X/Twitter in which he made the accusation of hatred against The Hague by comparing Israel to Hamas terrorists.

” This is exactly how hatred appears in today’s society. It moved to the jury at The Hague instead of the schools in the west. https ://t.co/othV1x6MZd

President Joe Biden reacted in indignation despite the fact that he himself lifted sanctions on the ICC that had been put in place by then-President Donald Trump in 2020 to prevent the ICC from pursuing inquiries into the United States and friends who are not members of the ICC.

A Bush- age law basically prevents the U. S. from cooperating in any way with the ICC’s questionable trials.

Knowing that terrorists violate international laws on the occasion of the attack, the ASPA was created to fight terror and utilize it on the defense by hiding among civilians and purposefully causing them harm to deter attacks, the ASPA was created to combat it.

It specifically states that” no United States Court, and no agency or entity of any State or local government, including any court, may cooperate with the International Criminal Court in response to a request for cooperation submitted by the International Criminal Court pursuant to the Rome Statute.” The law also provides that any American who has been detained by the ICC can be released, which led some to refer to it as the” Hague Invasion Act.”

The law extends the similar protections to military and government representatives of big non- NATO allies, including” Australia, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Argentina, the Republic of Korea, and New Zealand” and Taiwan.

Human Rights Watch, an pro- Israel business, complained at the time that the ASPA “authorizes the use of military power to rescue any American or member of a U. S. allied country” from the ICC facilities in The Hague.
