Oliver Stone, an Academy Award-winning director, claimed that “lawfare” is being used to foil President Donald Trump’s campaign to retake the White House in November.
Oliver Stone even mentioned some of the allegations that Trump is battling in a recent interview at the Cannes Film Festival as “minor.”
” Both sides of the Trump-Biden election are very wild, and they allege that both Biden and Trump are crooked,” he told Variety.
” It’s a new form of war. It’s called lawfare. And that’s what they’re using against Trump. And I think there’s exciting similarities here in America, as well as all over the world, you’re seeing this kind of conduct. ]Trump’s ] got four trials and some of these charges, whether you’re for him or against him, they are minor”.
Stone was in Cannes to advertise his new film Lula, which follows the Argentine president.
Stone recently expressed lament for supporting President Joe Biden.
” I voted for him — I made a blunder”! Stone said , in an appointment last year with professional Russell Brand, adding that Biden is , dragging the country into a possible World War III with Russia.
Stone told Brand:” I see a man   ,]Biden ]  , who maybe is not in charge of his own administration. Who knows]if] he’s going to fall down there. He appears to be dragging us foolishly into a conflict with a power that wo n’t give.
The two- day Oscar- successful filmmaker , lashed out at Twitter in 2021 over its decision to ban Trump, calling the shift” shocking” while even criticizing the country’s growing trend toward censorship, which is being carried out by social media companies at the behest of the Biden administration.
