On Monday, several UN bodies honored Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, whose storied political career was defined by the murder of dozens of social prisoners, causing outrage from the Jewish group at the U.N.
The Security Council, the most effective system at the United Nations, held a moment of silence in Raisi’s respect, as well as for later Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir- Abdollahian. The two were killed in a plane that crashed on their way up from Azerbaijan on Sunday, when they had attended a ceremony to establish a dam that they had jointly constructed with Baku. Iran confirmed their murders on Monday night in the early hours of the morning.

The head of another United Nations agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA ), also honored Raisi and Amir- Abdollahian. In early May, Rafael Grossi traveled to Iran, a country that regularly violates its nuclear power contracts, and declared that the country’s continued censorship of its atomic websites and its problematic relationship with the IAEA were” completely unsuitable.”
Our thoughts are with their people and the Iranian people during this difficult time, Grossi wrote in a statement of sympathy on Monday on social media.

” You read properly, the UN Security Council now held a minute’s silence in memory of the large killing Egyptian president Raisi”, Erdan said in the picture. ” This system, which makes no effort to open our victims, tipped their eyes now to a person who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds in Iran, in Israel, and around the planet”.
Erdan referred to the Council as a “danger to earth peace.”
Raisi’s political profession was marked by an enormous amount of killing, beginning with his day as a best counsel. In the 1980s, as part of governmental institutions known widely as “death income”, Raisi was part of the decisionmaking process that led to the dying of , between , 5, 000 and 30, 000 , social captives. As leader, Raisi handled the government’s terrible crackdown of the quiet protests that arose in September 2022 following the “morality police” beating to death 22- year- ancient Mahsa Amini, a Kurdish woman accused of wearing a , hijab wrong.

Iran also played a significant role in the jihadist terror organization Hamas ‘ abduction of about 250 people on October 7 and the slaughter of an estimated 1,200 people, including young children as young as infants. On October 7, a Hamas spokesman told the BBC that Raisi’s Iran “directly supported the attack.”

The U. N. was not alone in honoring Raisi on Monday. In a statement issued by the European Union’s president, Charles Michel, claiming to represent the entire EU, expressed his” sincere condolences for the death of President Raisi and foreign minister Abdollahian, as well as other members of their delegation and crew in a helicopter accident. Our thoughts go to the families”. The American State Department also offered “official condolences,” and Barry Black, the chaplain for the Senate, prayed for” the Iranian people who mourn the death of their president.”
Far from mourning, many Iranians have risked their lives in the past two days publicly celebrating Raisi’s death. Following the news of the helicopter crash, Iranian dissident outlets published videos from Tehran showing fireworks over the city. Additionally, reports of Iranians joyfully sharing candy and other treats have been reported.
