Maher responded,” I think it’s not useful. First of all, it was antiquated. That statement would have been logical a while ago. I believe that we should always work to address racism and recognize that it still exists. But we’re not in the history. I usually keep saying, come sit in the year we’re living in. We do n’t have a year where being a person of color must be ten times better for success. And in some cases, it’s an edge. In some places, it’s not an edge. But we’re not living in that earth that he’s talking about. And I do n’t think that helps anybody”.
