
The main suspect in connection with the two-week-old punch that was carried out on Manhattan’s streets in front of professional Steve Buscemi has been detained and charged.
Clifton Williams, a 50- yr- old unhoused person, is being held on$ 50, 000 cash bail and is set to appear in court Thursday for assaulting two people only minutes off on May 8 in broad daylight.
According to the New York City Police Department, Williams was detained on May 17 and is facing claims of second-degree abuse for punching Buscemi, 66, in the face. Williams, according to a complaint made to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, identified himself as the perpetrator in both situations.
Buscemi, a character actor known for films such as Quentin Tarantino’s” Reservoir Dogs” and TV series such as” Boardwalk Empire”, was standing and looking at his phone when a closed fist suddenly struck him, causing him to fall to the ground, according to authorities. His left eye, which had bloodied and bruised, after required medical attention at Bellevue Hospital.
Williams is facing a misdemeanor charge for assaulting a senior citizen in New York, which carries a two-year least word. Williams has no previous history of detention or jail time, and it’s not known what his emotional state was at the moment. Buscemi’s journalist decried it as a , “random act of violence”.

There’s no information on whether Buscemi’s wounds have affected his job. His publicist did not respond to a demand for additional analysis Monday.
