In Eastern Europe’s autocratic landscape, U.S. elites frequently refer to Ukraine as a lone barrier of democracy. But, Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to keep the land under martial law and extend his presidential word is far from the orderly portrayal of Polish democracy that the American ruling category and their friends in the commercial media have tried to sell to American taxpayers.
The leader of the Eastern European nation is supposed to be chosen by the Ukrainian people on the basis of “universal, equitable, and immediate suffrage by means of secret ballot for five years,” according to the president’s official website.
Zelensky, who initially came into power in 2019, was due for another ballot this spring. Zelensky chose to expand his name continuously rather than slogging through an election that his fast declining approval rating might derail.
“Ukraine does n’t need to prove anything about democracy to anyone. Because of the war that Ukraine and its citizens are using, Zelensky claimed in a New York Times article with the title” What’s the Problem?” Zelensky Challenges West Over Hesitations”.
Zelensky’s ultimately against- political decision earned the blessing of U. S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who suggested the election should not start until” all Ukrainians, including those displaced by Russia’s aggression” you vote. British corporate media were also quick to support Zelensky’s extended law, saying an election is someone Ukrainians have “little stomach” for.
The people who led the U.S. government for more than two years argued that the Russia-Ukraine conflict was necessary to “defend democracy” and that it was necessary.
They frequently omitted and attempted to silence those who had warned that the Zelensky regime was corrupt in favor of amplifying slyly optimistic and hollow rhetoric about sending more money so Ukraine could send Vladimir Putin packing, even trying to silence them.
Yahoo! Financial reassured its readers that the U.S. economy will be the first to pass through the new proxy war with no definable end.
By that, Yahoo! aims to support Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s assertion that it is beneficial for Americans to funnel money to Ukraine through warmongering defense companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. An overwhelming number of the taxpayers funding this venture, however, say any big spending should go to securing their country’s compromised border, not Ukraine’s.
The same politicians and media mouthpieces who are clamoring for more TV time, more support, and more TV time and PR for a man whose presence in power is currently guaranteed by martial law alone are calling for more money, more support, and more TV time and PR for the former president.
“Ukraine still , shutters , churches and , restricts , the free press”, Federalist Senior Editor David Harsanyi noted last year. You might think that those actions during a wartime are justified, but they are by definition not liberal. Ukraine has never been a functioning ‘ democracy. ‘”  ,
Now more than ever, Zelensky’s overstaying his welcome without the consent of Ukranian voters makes it clear that Americans were sold a lie about the reason billions of their hard-earned tax dollars are still being used to fund an international war.
